The Junior Ranger Experience is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes adventure where young animal lovers get a real taste of life as a zookeeper. Junior Rangers will help prepare tasty meals for a variety of animals, get up close with fascinating creatures, and even pitch in to clean and care for an animal’s enclosure, making sure it’s safe and comfortable. Along the way, they’ll learn from our expert keepers about the animals in our care and discover the conservation work Banham Zoo is doing to protect wildlife.

The experience is designed for children aged 8 to 16 years old, perfect for younger and older siblings to join.

Parents have the option to leave their children in the care of our experienced education team for the full hour-long experience, giving kids the freedom to fully engage. Alternatively, parents are welcome to follow the group at a distance if they prefer to stay nearby while allowing the children to explore independently.
